Politically Tactless

As I sit here on a Tuesday evening after plugging away on updates for the website and all the networking sites, and after a lot of work today to get ahead for June on the show, I know I should be writing about this past weekend, but then my very wise mother told me often-”Bob, if you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.”

I was accused last night of being politically correct because of what I said on-air about the Lancaster show, (sorry, I still have a hard time saying Dunn Tire Raceway Park outside of the booth), and that strikes me as completely odd.  I’ve never in my life been accused of saying the ‘right’ thing or dodging something touchy.  In fact most of my life it’s been quite the opposite.  I’ve spent more time in the doghouse because of my lack of tact or willingness to bite my tongue than most married men.  I always stand up for my believes and am very opinionated.

So, while I don’t think I was being ‘politically correct’, I do think that I chose the high road for now.  It’s pretty easy to stand up and spout off about something before you think and most of the time, as has been my experience, that’s what gets you into the most trouble.  This time around, I’ve chosen to step back some and try to think about all the different angles, (and trust me there’s a whole helluva lot more than what many of you would even begin to imagine-even those that work on, own one, or sponsor one-), digest where it’s at and question if it’s really as big of a deal as many think it is.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got something to say about it.  I’ve got a lot to say in fact.  I’ll say this for now, I hate to say I told ya so…but I told ya so.  Those that know me and spend time with me, know where I’ve stood since day one of this whole MSA/Oswego Wing Challenge deal and that much has not changed.

Come back tomorrow.  I think I’ll climb all the way up On the Soapbox and tell you what many of you conspiracy theorists and drama queens want to hear.
