Practice Makes Perfect

I’m up and ready to rock. Today marks one of the smarter things Oswego Speedway is doing this year, and really, most of the thanks have to go to Chuck Handley and the USA as I see it. Regardless of who thought it up, a pre-season inspection and practice that also involves a free grandstand for the fans is a stellar promotion. As much fun as it was to go to California and see actual racing-I’m wicked stoked to head to the O today for inspection and open practice. I am here to tell you all that there is simply nothing like a NON WING supermodified haulin ass outta turn four at “The Home of the Supermodifieds!” I hope I get to see some of you all there. I’m ready to grab my first Hoffman’s Frank of the year, and soak up all the sweet methanol fumes I can. But first, I’d better get my ass out to the garage and help get the Plum Krazy 99 loaded up so we can get it to the track!

PS…I know the blogs are out of sequence now but hey, it makes it fun right?

Hi Bobby, Great interview with Mike Lichty....really got me pumped for the upcoming season. I saw my very first Supermodified Race when I was about 12 and have been addicted ever since! That was back in the 60's when the "Supers" exploded in the London, Ont. area at tracks like Delaware, Nilestown and later Flamboro. Great site! Many thanks, Mike Graham

I’ve been a race fan for 55years and this is my 1st year as a super fan and i have totally enjoyed it. The speed , no radios,no mirrors and no passing flag puts it all on the driver. I grew up going to Seekonk and last sat. was my 1st trip there in 25 years it’s gone from being a dump to a really nice track. Both super divisions put on a fantastic show hope they come back next year. Plattsburg,NY was awesome I was disappointed that Woody won until he pulled my # for the 50/50 drawing. That changed my mind in a hurry sure hope they go back there next year. I can’t make Thompson so I’m in countdown mode until next year. We''''ve loved them ever since Boyd Showers brought out the first off set car in the 70''''s at the San Jose Speedway. We were hooked ever since.
